Having attended one of Chris’ sessions ourselves recently, the Spymonkey team wanted to set up one of his brilliant webinars for others working in the arts. 

The session will give an overview of social media and look at specific tools you can use to best grow your following, increase your profile in the industry and ultimately sell more tickets. It will also focus on a few case studies from campaigns Chris has run for arts organisations in the past. It will be run via Zoom with virtual slides but there will also be some practical tasks for you to begin utilising your social media feeds. 

Chris O’Connor is a professional playwright from Leeds who has written for organisations such as the Leeds Playhouse, BBC Radio and Red Ladder Theatre Company. He has also worked in social media for various organisations in sports and the arts and has undergone a number of training courses in order to best utilise social media. He has managed over 250,000 followers across various platforms and now trains arts organisations in how to most effectively use social media.

As before, we ask you to consider which ticket bracket you can reasonably afford. All income made from these sessions goes directly to covering the costs of keeping Spymonkey going while we’re unable to make work or run our training in person.

Bursary places

As before, we will build on our Brassmonkey Bursary scheme by offering 10% of spaces on this workshop programme free of charge to African diaspora people, South, East and South East Asian people or people from other ethnically diverse backgrounds, and to artists with disabilities. These sessions will be offered on a first-come first-served basis by contacting Natasha Britton on natasha@spymonkey.co.uk with details of which sessions you’d like to attend.
